Interesting change This book from the pairing of Nicholls and Teague is different than anything I've seen from Nicholls before. The style is completely different. Not necessarily bad, but definitely different. Instead of taking off at break-neck speed and not letting up until the final pages, this one begins kinda slows and starts to build and escalate into the final crescendo, surprising the reader with it's intensity.Though the characters are complete, I found myself annoyed by the main on several occasions. Eventually, I overcame his quirkiness and did like him, but he does have annoying qualities. But who among us doesn't?The plot is clean and easy to follow. Though there are a lot of predictable events, there are enough shocks from out of nowhere to keep the pages turning. "Oh what a tangled web we weave..." comes to mind for this book. Deception is center stage and the web is far reaching. Confusion keeps one guessing throughout. Mystery is more in play than thriller, in my opinion. There is so much going on, but when it starts coming together, hold on to something for then it really begins to roll.Overall, this is a really good book. It has some really heart wrenching moments as it is about a missing child. But thankfully, its not so overwhelmingly sad throughout as you might expect considering such. It's definitely worth a read.Mystery/Thriller First of all I want to say that Adam and Paul did an outstanding job on their first collaboration. I have read all each author has to offer and their effort was seamless. Now You See Her begins when Reece Norman is late picking up her daughters from school only to find her youngest four year old daughter Poppy who is hearing impaired is nowhere to be found. Cory a local newspaper man and his intern take up the story and the hunt - so many twist and turns that you will be hard pressed to figure out who is telling the truth. I received an advance copy in exchange for my review and read it in one setting because I needed to find out what happened.Sequel Please! How far would you go to save a child? In the sleepy town of Shadow Falls where crime is low journalist Cory and his young intern are about to find out. This is a great collaboration by Adam Nicholls and Paul Teague. The transitions are seamless you won't know who wrote which chapters. Be sure to allow plenty of time since you won't want to put this book down. The ending will surprise you leaving you wanting a sequel. Hopefully there will be more from Cory and his young intern Bianica in the future.
