Disappointed overall If you were like me and expecting more than a re-telling of the events of Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair, then prepare to be disappointed. The advertised "bonus scenes" are nothing special. The art and English translations are decent enough, but I'm not going to waste time or money investing in future volumes.more time spent with and more art of your favorite characters, what's not to like? I just bought this (along with the complete DR1: The Animation manga series) a few days ago in a big name book store. I really enjoyed it and wanted the next issue, but while looking to pre-order it, I ended up here and saw the lone review. I wanted to leave mine. Let me preface by saying that DR2 is my favorite Danganronpa game and the cast is my favorite out of the entire franchise. If you love DR2, this book is a solid buy. It's more time spent with and more art of your favorite characters, what's not to like? Yes, it does retell the events of DR2 (duh?), but it's unique in that it does so from Nagito's perspective. It gives you a glimpse of what was going on in his head from the start and I liked that and the new "scenes" it allowed for. If you're looking for something completely different from a retelling, like the other reviewer, the comic anthologies are probably the better option for you. This series is like the DR1: The Animation series, a manga version of its respective game. The anthologies tell different stories. All in all, this is a great start to a series if you like DR2 enough just to have it in manga form, and especially if you like Nagito.
